This image is bought to you today by one owl that took up residence on the tree outside my window. And then proceeded to try and keep me awake.

I was curious about the species so I did a search to see if I could find it when I stumbled unto this totally awesome image. Arent they just precious??? They were so cute I had to draw them. Would have been grand to draw the one outside my window but he did a disappearance act by sunrise.

Just Pencils and paper. And about 3 days work.

Jimmi, congratulations on devoting yourself to your passion and taking every step, no matter how painstaking at times, to learn. You are a real inspiration. Wonderful job on sketching these owls too!!! (Did you get into college yet?)

looks pretty much like barn owls

they often roost near people and love homes premade for them, ala their barn owl title. lovely little critters, my favorite owl. if they make chittery and clicky sounds when just doing their thing, and the classic raptor screech when guarding or hunting, its probably a barn owl.. alas, its pretty much just the great horned that does the pretty hooo-hoo-hooo.

dude in the middle is missing a toe

(they have two front toes and two back toes per foot, as you did so well on the rest of the piece) hope you just missed it and he isnt short a toe!

looks a bit flatty ^^

also, the owl n the right screen, have a wierd wing. its curve not ended well.
